Walk of Witness

Registration is closed for this event
A walking vigil to witness at Central London locations associated with the Arms Trade.

We will meet at Westminster Meeting House, refreshments and crafts available from 1pm, for a 2pm start.  There will be space for those needing a bit of quiet before we begin, but if there are lots of us we may need to gather outside.

There will be a period of worship and reflection early on, followed by short vigils at several arms company headquarters.  The route is between 1 and 2 miles in total, at a gentle pace.

We will bring postcards, letting people know why we are gathering, and will be reading testimony from those affected by the arms trade. Feel free to bring your own placards and signs.

We will finish between 4:00 and 4:30pm back at Westminster. After the walk, a group of us will travel together to the vigil at the Excel in the evening.

Many thanks to London CAAT for devising the walk, and sharing the details with us.

If you're joining our witness, check out this practical information about what to bring, what will be there, travel, accommodation and staying safe & well.

Strikes mean that the tube is unlikely to be running that day. The nearest public transport stations are:

  • Tottenham Court Road for the Elizabeth line.
  • National Rail: Charing Cross is nearest, and Waterloo is just across the river.
  • Busses: any going to Trafalgar Sq
  • River bus: Embankment

Registration is not essential, but if you are comfortable, please register to help us plan for numbers, and to recieve any updates by email.  If you are concerned about security, please feel free to use a pseudonym and/or temporary email adress.
