No Faith in War Day

In order to be impactful and supportive we are asking Friends to let your life speak, for yourself, God and for those who are silenced due to the Arms Trade.

We hope the day will be multifaith, where Friends and other religions will hold space to Witness as the DSEI Arms Fair opens. We will be offering a grounded and worshipful presence and upholding people who are taking risks to disrupt DSEI as part of 'the Big One' protests.

We plan for the following witness aorund the fiollowing key times, Friends are invited to join when you can. Look out for Quaker banners and a large 'War Starts Here' banner.

• As arms fair delegates arrive from 8am - gather by other protesters outside City Hall (at the far westren end of the dock, E16 1ZE)
• Meeting for Worship at 12pm, we will find a suitable palce for grounded and safe worship.
• Other faith contributions, songs and crafts throughout the day, alongside the Big One action.
• As delegrates leave around 4pm.

A coalition of groups under the banner 'the Big One' are calling for a mass blockade of DSEI.  It is important for Friends to be aware that there may be a tense atmosphere on the day, and a more active police presence.  We encourage everyone to to remind yourself of key advice about your rights, and to take time to reflect on the level of risk that you want to take.

It is likely that strikes will mean that there is no DLR service that day.  The Elizabeth line runs from central London to Custom House for the ExCel centre and will be unaffected by the strikes, but be prepared for it to be busy. If you're staying in East London, many buses stop at Custom House.
